Third Grade Academic Testing

Elementary Academic Testing has been expanded to include 3rd grade students. The tests for this grade level consist of the six categories listed below. Also included are the rules for each category.

  • Category 1: Grammar: The exam will consist of questions covering grammar, usage, and mechanics (capitulation and punctuation). Composition and literature questions will not be included on the test.
  • Category 2: Math. The exam will consist of questions covering General Math. Calculators and cell phones will not be permitted.
  • Category 3: Science. The exam will consist of questions covering Life Science and General Science. Calculators and cell phones will not be permitted.
  • Category 4: Social Studies. The exam will consist of questions covering U.S. History and Geography.
  • Category 5: Old Testament Bible Knowledge. Competition in this category will be by written exam, testing knowledge of factual or objective material (rather than interpretive) from the book of Genesis, Chapters 1‒28.
  • Category 6: New Testament Bible Knowledge. Competition in this category will be by written exam, testing knowledge of factual or objective material (rather than interpretive) from the Gospel of Mark.
